31 week nail challenge week 05

 MUA Fur-Effect
Boo Boo Fluff

This week, as a little change to the nail challenge, instead of using nail polish I used MUA Fur-Effect Nails. Everywhere you look now, brands are releasing new types of nail polish to produce various effects. We've had leather, concrete, sand and now fur!

Yes, curiosity got the better of me when I spied this product on the MUA website. The MUA products are just so affordable I thought it would be fun to try out fur-effect nails. Your nails don't exactly feel furry, more fuzzy. In the above picture my nails are shown straight after the application. As the day goes, on tiny bits of fuzz that haven't adhered to the nail polish underneath begin to shed. Don't worry, you won't be leaving a trail of blue fuzz behind you but maybe don't touch your face for a while, just in case.

I think I'm going to eBay some little googly eyes for a spot of Seaseme Street nail art in the future.

lidl suddenly madame glamour

I had read about Lidl's Suddenly Madame Glamour last year on a few beauty blogs and can honestly say I was very intrigued by this bargain perfume that apparently was trumping Chanel Coco Mademoiselle in various sniff tests. After a spot of searching for this intriguing scent, I kept coming up empty. It was constantly sold out at my local Lidl. I even had a sneaky scope around eBay for it and while it was a available, it was almost three times the registered retail price! I'm aware that's only £10, but given that the perfume is available for £3.49 that's quite the hike in price.

By some luck I managed to get my hands on a bottle of Suddenly Madame Glamour in the run up to Christmas, when the perfume was relaunched due to popular demand. With Valentine's Day fast approaching, Madame Glamour has hit the shelves again after selling out spectacularly once again at Christmas.

Described as citrus and floral notes incorporating Bergamot and Jasmine, it certainly smells deeply fruity and floral and not at all overpowering. I am usually a fan of lighter scented perfumes but I really enjoy Madame Glamour. I even went straight to my local Debenhams to test out Coco Madomoiselle againt Madame Glamour. Personally, couldn't see much of a difference between either perfumes.

Another point I must make, is that while wearing Madame Glamour I received many complements on the fragrance. Both, family members and work colleagues inquired after the name of the perfume I was wearing as they thought it smelt lovely. My mother was particularly insistent to find out what perfume I was wearing.

Has anyone else tried out this bargain perfume? Or are you a fan of Coco Madomoiselle and intrigued by this purse friendly scent?

31 week nail challenge week 4

I gave blogging a little miss last week as there were a number of things going on, but I still manged to paint my nails in accordance to the nail challenge. Green is a colour I have a love/hate relationship with when it comes to my nails. Some shades of green can be a little boring but the truly gorgeous emerald shades can reek havoc on your poor nails by staining them a sickly yellow colour if you're not careful.

 NYC High Line Green
Nubar 2010
Rimmel Matte Finish

Last week I used a gorgeous bright green from New York Color in High Line Green. It took me quite a while to find this shade of green, as every other brand only had what I considered to be 'the boring shades.' I was on the look out for a vibrant shade of green to get me in the mood for spring and High Line Green is perfect.  I added an old favorite combo to make things a little more interesting, Nubar 2010 for a hint of sparkle and Rimmel's Matte Finish as I find glitter stands out more against the matte color.

I hope to post about the next color on the list later on this week, I've funked it up a bit with a new nail art trend.
